PLC Resources has mapped and ranked a suite of gold targets at its Abbotts project in Western Australia after a satellite-based targeting program flagged prospective alteration and structures across the ground.

The Abbotts project covers four tenements totalling 205 square kilometres, about 35km north of Meekatharra, in the Abbotts Greenstone Belt. Historic quartz reef workings in the belt produced around 41,000 ounces of gold at an average grade of 31 g/t.

PLC combined EnMAP hyperspectral satellite imagery with its earlier high-resolution airborne magnetics and historical gold, copper and arsenic geochemistry to home in on alteration patterns and fault corridors typically linked with orogenic gold systems.

That integrated approach produced a ranked list of first-priority targets, with Rochefort, Buttamiah, Vranizan North and Sprigg Bore among the standouts. The company says the most compelling hotspots are where alteration signatures, historical gold anomalies and favourable magnetic structures converge.

At Sprigg Bore, in the southeast of the tenure, the satellite alteration cluster aligns with historical rock-chip results that ranged from 350 to 651 parts per billion, supporting the remote-sensing interpretation of prospective gold-bearing structures.

PLC recently completed an eight-hole reverse circulation program at Rochefort totalling 1,896 metres, with assays due in the coming weeks. The company plans to fold those results into its growing database and refine its target rankings accordingly.

Spectral features on PLC’s central tenement resemble the alteration style at New Murchison Gold’s producing Crown Prince mine, located about 5km south of PLC’s boundary. Crown Prince holds a combined measured and indicated resource of 247,800 ounces at 3.1 g/t, and began production in September 2025 with ore trucked to Westgold’s Bluebird processing plant 36km to the south.

PLC says it will begin follow-up fieldwork later in the quarter, including geological mapping, rock-chip sampling and surface geochemistry to validate the satellite targets and refine drilling locations. Aircore programs already have regulatory approval, with drilling targeted for Q1 2027, and the company has flagged potential future RC and diamond programs.

Beyond Abbotts, PLC also holds the Yalgoo gold project where it reports an inferred resource of 150,000 tonnes at 2.7 g/t for 13,000 ounces, giving the company a second target area within Western Australia’s gold belts.

“This targeting study gives us a district-scale picture of the gold potential across our ground at Abbotts for the first time. With Rochefort assays pending, we now have a ranked, defensible set of targets to take to the field, and we look forward to testing them.”

The Murchison region has seen a burst of activity from a number of explorers, including Hamelin Gold and King River Resources, as modern techniques are applied to historically productive ground and nearby projects move into production.
